Basketball Recap: Lilly Drew's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Knightstown over Tri

If Knightstown was feeling good fresh off their 46-20 takedown of Indianapolis Lutheran on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Panthers took a 44-32 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tri Titans on Wednesday. It was the first time this season that the Panthers let down their fans at home.

Several Panthers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Lilly Drew, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 11 boards. That was a full 34.4% of Knightstown's points, marking the third time in a row Drew has posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayly Cline, who put up seven points.

Knightstown's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 5-2. As for Tri, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Knightstown didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 48-43 loss against North Decatur on the 29th. As for Tri, they will face off against Cambridge City Lincoln at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
