Baseball Recap: White Knoll Takes a Loss

White Knoll was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Cardinal Newman Cardinals. The Timberwolves were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cardinals apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2022.

Braydon Hoffman was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Those three hits allowed gave him a new career-low.

At the plate, Landen Farmer was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run. Another player making a difference was Dillon Woods, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one double.

White Knoll's loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Cardinal Newman, their victory bumped their record up to 3-4.

White Knoll wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, an 8-5 defeat against Dutch Fork on the 25th. As for Cardinal Newman, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Northside Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on April 1.
