Soccer Game Preview: Omaha Central vs. Omaha South

Omaha Central hasn't had much luck against Omaha South recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Eagles will head out to challenge the Packers at 7:30 p.m. Omaha Central is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.1 goals per game this season.

The home team had come away the winner the last four times Omaha Central and Kearney had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Eagles lost 6-2 to the Bearcats on Saturday. Things were pretty much settled by the half as Omaha Central were already down 5-0.

Siidi Adan and Zaakir Vance scored both of Omaha Central's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 13 goals.

Meanwhile, Omaha South faced Gretna East in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Packers were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Griffins. Omaha South might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by three goals or more this season.

The win made it two in a row for Omaha South and bumps their season record up to 8-2. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored six goals over those two contests. As for Omaha Central, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.

Omaha Central came up short against Omaha South when the teams last played back in April of 2021, falling 3-1. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
