Football Game Preview: Lapeer Lightning vs. Davison Cardinals + Official Tickets

The Lapeer Lightning will head out to face off against the Davison Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lapeer hasn't scored more than seven points for three games straight, a trend the team is eager to reverse.

Lapeer's offense might be in the hot seat on Friday considering what happened against Dow on Friday. They were dealt a 50-0 loss at the hands of the Chargers. While losing is never fun, the Lightning can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan football rankings (they are ranked 166th, while the Chargers are ranked 29th).

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Davison faced off against Grand Blanc on Friday. The Cardinals had to suffer through a 57-29 loss at the hands of the Bobcats. The Cardinals were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-10.

The match pitted two dominant signal callers against one another in Jaxson Dosh and Jake Morrow. Morrow had a great game and threw for 368 yards and five touchdowns while completing 83.3% of his passes. Meanwhile, Dosh did his best for the losing side, throwing for 226 yards and three TDs.

Lapeer's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Davison, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 7-1.

Lapeer might still be hurting after the 48-28 defeat they got from Davison in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Can the Lightning avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
