Softball Recap: Fort Edward Flying Forts vs. North Warren Central Cougars
Fort Edward gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the North Warren Central Cougars a 13-0 shutout. For the Flying Forts, this counts as revenge for the 10-5 win the Cougars walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.
Bradie Tyler made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 15 over five innings pitched. Tyler was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
In other batting news, Rue Quarters was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Felicity Columbetti, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Fort Edward wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 10-6 victory against Bolton Central on the 2nd. As for North Warren Central, they will take on the Flying Forts at 4:30 a.m. on the 9th.
