Football Recap: Voorhees Keeps North Plainfield's Under Pressure

If North Plainfield wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Voorhees, they should've done a better job of containing Matteo Tramutola. The Vikings claimed a resounding 41-13 victory over the Canucks with plenty of help from Tramutola, who rushed for 202 yards and three scores while picking up 12.6 yards per carry. He also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, picking up a sack and making nine total tackles.

Voorhees' defense made their presence known, laying out the QB three times. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Tramutola, Dimos Maroulis, and Jaxon Garner, who each picked up one sack apiece.

The win made it two in a row for Voorhees and bumps their season record up to 5-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 25 points in those games. As for North Plainfield, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Coming up, Voorhees will challenge Governor Livingston at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. That contest will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Tramutola and Dominic Labisi. As for North Plainfield, they will host Kennedy Memorial at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Canucks will need to watch out since the Mustangs have now posted at least 31 points in their last three games.
