Basketball Game Preview: Lake City Trojans vs. Houghton Lake Bobcats

The Lake City Trojans are taking a road trip to challenge the Houghton Lake Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Last Friday, Lake City came up short against Evart and fell 68-55. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 411th, while the Wildcats are ranked 103rd).

Meanwhile, Houghton Lake played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 67-27 loss at the hands of Pine River Area. The Bobcats have struggled against the Bucks recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Houghton Lake's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Lake City, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-8.

Lake City came up short against Houghton Lake in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, falling 52-43. Can Lake City avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
