Softball Recap: River Valley Falls Short of West Branch in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact River Valley can now relate to. They fell just short of the West Branch Warriors by a score of 8-7 on Monday. The Panthers' loss continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Izabella Speal was cooking despite her team's loss, firing off two home runs, six RBI, and three runs while going 2-for-4. Maddie Twinchek was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

River Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 8-5. As for West Branch, they pushed their record up to 15-5 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.

As of now, neither River Valley nor the Warriors have any future games scheduled.
