Baseball Recap: Burkburnett's Losing Streak Snapped at Six Games

Burkburnett can bid farewell to their six-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They never let the Springtown Porcupines get on the board and left with a 5-0 win. The matchup marked the Bulldogs' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Not much got past Seth Hoyle, who gave up just four hits and racked up nine Ks to keep Springtown off the board. Hoyle has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Adrian Arias was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mason Williams, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Burkburnett's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 3-10. As for Springtown, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 9-7-1.
