Basketball Recap: Braden Wilkie Key Part of a Team Effort in Knights Win

Lake Norman Charter hadn't done well against Concord recently (they were 0-7 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Lake Norman Charter Knights walked away with a 59-50 win over the Concord Spiders. This was a revenge game for the Knights: when they faced off against the Spiders back in December of 2024, they had to take a 75-67 loss.

Lake Norman Charter's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Braden Wilkie, who went 6 of 11 en route to 14 points. Langston Holder was another key player, putting up 12 points and five boards.

When it comes to explaining why Concord lost, don't look at Tyvonta Rushmeyer. Despite the final result, he posted 17 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals. Rushmeyer's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Gabe Stafford also deserves some recognition as he posted his first blocks of the season.

Lake Norman Charter has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-9 record this season. As for Concord, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-7.

Lake Norman Charter wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, an 80-75 loss against Northwest Cabarrus on the 31st. As for Concord, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 71-56 win against West Rowan on the 31st.
