Basketball Game Preview: Wayland-Cohocton Eagles vs. Perry Yellowjackets

The Wayland-Cohocton Eagles will venture away from home to face off against the Perry Yellowjackets at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Wayland-Cohocton will be strutting in after a win while Perry will be coming in after a defeat.

Last Wednesday, Wayland-Cohocton beat Campbell-Savona 35-24. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Wayland-Cohocton got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Orion Walker out in front who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine boards. That's the most rebounds Walker has posted since back in December of 2024. Charles Mulford was another key player, putting up eight points along with 11 boards and three steals.

Meanwhile, Perry was just a bucket shy of victory on Wednesday and fell 55-54 to Letchworth.

Perry has also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.6 points over those games. As for Wayland-Cohocton, their victory bumped their record up to 7-11.

Wayland-Cohocton took their win against Perry in their previous matchup back in March of 2021 by a conclusive 75-49. Does Wayland-Cohocton have another victory up their sleeve, or will Perry turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
