Crawford hadn't done well against Christian recently (they were 0-5 in their previous five matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Colts had just enough and edged out the Patriots 3-2. This was a revenge game for the Colts: when they faced off against the Patriots back in March, they had to take a 3-0 defeat.

Crawford had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 9-25, 20-25, 26-24, 28-26, 15-13.

Crawford found their leader in freshman John Brown, who had 20 digs.

Christian's loss came despite strong showings from Trae Pheasant and Jack McGinnis. Pheasant had 12 digs and 12 assists, while McGinnis had 15 digs.

Crawford has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. As for Christian, the loss snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 16-12 record.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Crawford is set to take on their familiar foe Hoover at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Christian will challenge rival Lincoln at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
