Escalon won the last time they faced Hilmar and things went their way on Monday too. The Cougars came out on top against the Yellowjackets by a score of 3-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cougars.

Escalon had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 17-25, 25-19, 25-22, 25-21.

Preston Berhorst paced Escalon's offense, picking up 16 kills. Berhorst got some help from Ben Ferreira and his 36 assists. Ferreira was also solid from the service line: he led the team with two aces.

Escalon's win bumped their record up to 7-9. As for Hilmar, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 12 of their last 13 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-18 record this season.

Escalon will venture away from home to square off against Big Valley Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Hilmar, they will challenge Riverbank at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Yellowjackets are facing the Bruins at the right time seeing as the Bruins are stuck on an 11-game losing streak.
