Baseball Recap: Fleming County Snaps Five-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Fleming County won the last time they faced Paris and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Panthers came out on top against the Greyhounds by a score of 7-3.

Kaleb McIntyre tossed a big game, tossing six innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four).

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jett Martin, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. Fleming County is undefeated when Martin posts two or more runs, but 9-10 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Preston Cropper, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

Fleming County's win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-10. As for Paris, their loss dropped their record down to 16-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fleming County will square off against Lawrence County at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Paris, they will challenge Williamstown at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Demons have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12 runs per game on average), something the Greyhounds will no doubt try to take advantage of.
