Baseball Recap: Coginchaug Regional Takes a Loss

Coginchaug Regional suffered their biggest loss since April 1, 2024 on Wednesday. They came up short against the North Branford Thunderbirds, falling 11-4. The defeat continues a trend for the Blue Devils in their meetings with the Thunderbirds: they've now lost six in a row.

Coginchaug Regional's loss dropped their record down to 8-4. As for North Branford, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-1.

Looking ahead, Coginchaug Regional will square off against Old Lyme at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Blue Devils are facing the Wildcats at the right time seeing as the Wildcats are stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for North Branford, they will challenge Haddam-Killingworth at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. The Cougars' pitching crew has only allowed 1.4 runs per game this season, so the Thunderbirds' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
