Soccer Recap: West Plains Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Del Valle, West Plains was happy to have turned things around on Friday. While the 0-0 score might suggest a draw, it was Wolves who were credited with the victory. The West Plains Wolves got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to the Chaparral Bobcats's three. The final result isn't all that surprising considering West Plains' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 273rd, while Chaparral are ranked 556th).

West Plains has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 19 goals over those six contests. As for Chaparral, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-8-1.

Looking ahead, West Plains will welcome Borger at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. This will be West Plains' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Chaparral, they didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next match, an 8-0 loss against Rouse on the 20th.
