Basketball Recap: Lake Arthur Comes Up Short

Lake Arthur suffered their biggest defeat since December 20, 2024 on Monday. They were beaten by the East Ascension Spartans 83-45. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 266th, while the Spartans are ranked 24th).

Lake Arthur's loss dropped their record down to 12-19. As for East Ascension, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-4.

Lake Arthur has already played their next match (against Lafayette Christian Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. East Ascension will face off against Denham Springs at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Denham Springs' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
