Football Recap: West Point Comes Up Short

West Point's last matchup with Northampton could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's matchup on Friday. The Pointers were outmatched by the Yellowjackets and fell 35-8. The Pointers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 22-0.

Aidan Ratcliffe and Michael Holmes certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Ratcliffe rushed for 64 yards and one TD on only eight carries, while Holmes rushed for 69 yards.

West Point's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Northampton, they pushed their record up to 4-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Looking ahead, West Point will host Westmoreland at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Northampton, they will head out to face off against Middlesex at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Yellowjackets will be up against the Chargers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 32 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
