Basketball Recap: Kearney Bulldogs vs. Belton Pirates
The Kearney Bulldogs came into Friday's match having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They put the hurt on Belton with a sharp 51-27 win on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Kearney also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2018.
Kearney found their leader in underclassman Brooke Paalhar, who scored 18 points along with four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Paalhar has scored all season. Alyssa Quick was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with six rebounds.
Kearney's win bumped their record up to 4-16. As for Belton, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-11.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kearney will take on the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Excelsior Springs has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Belton, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Bears at 7:00 p.m. Chrisman is no doubt hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
