Softball Recap: Faith Christian Gets the Win

Faith Christian hadn't done well against Wayne Christian recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Patriots sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the Eagles. This was payback for the Patriots, who suffered a 13-3 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Peyton Hagans spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits.

At the plate, Faith Christian's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Abby Bradley, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Faith Christian's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-8. As for Wayne Christian, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Faith Christian will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Wake Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on the 22nd. As for Wayne Christian, they will venture away from home to challenge Rosewood at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Wayne Christian will need to watch out since Rosewood has now posted at least ten runs in their last four contests.
