Volleyball Recap: Pickerington North Falls to Olentangy Liberty in First Game of Season

Pickerington North had to start their season on the road on Tuesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Olentangy Liberty Patriots. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Patriots apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 18-25, 25-22, 25-23.

Rasherly Caceres paced Pickerington North's offense, picking up 12 kills. Caceres got some help from Madison Smith and her 33 assists. Emma Pezzolla controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Among those leading the charge was Kylie Oehler, who had 15 digs and three aces. She has been hot for a while, having posted 14 or more digs the last 15 times she's played.

Pickerington North wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-1 loss against Dublin Scioto on the 21st. As for Olentangy Liberty, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Gilmour Academy at 6:00 p.m.
