Volleyball Recap: Marion Harding Starts Season with Loss at Home

Marion Harding unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of the Kenton Wildcats by a score of 3-2 on Saturday. The Presidents haven't had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Marion Harding wouldn't go down easily and took Kenton into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking three-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-15, 21-25, 25-27, 15-12.

Adelynn Appelfeller paced Marion Harding's offense, picking up nine kills. Appelfeller got some help from Adriana Armbruster and her 19 assists. Finally, Kennedy Griffin kept Marion Harding's defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.

Marion Harding is taking a road trip to take on Bucyrus at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Kenton, they will welcome Ada at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
