Basketball Game Preview: Chardon Hilltoppers vs. Mayfield Wildcats

The Chardon Hilltoppers will face off against the Mayfield Wildcats at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Chardon is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.

On Wednesday, Chardon was able to grind out a solid victory over North, taking the game 43-35.

Meanwhile, everything went Mayfield's way against South on Wednesday as Mayfield made off with a 57-36 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wildcats.

Chardon is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 28.2 points. As for Mayfield, their victory bumped their record up to 7-5.

Chardon came out on top in a nail-biter against Mayfield in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, sneaking past 72-69. Will Chardon repeat their success, or does Mayfield have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
