Soccer Game Preview: Millard vs. Beaver

The Millard Eagles will head out on the road to square off against the Beaver Beavers at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.

It was a Battle of the Birds when Millard faced off against Canyon View on Saturday. The Eagles took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Falcons. Having soared to a lofty six goals in the game before, Millard's shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Beaver, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over Enterprise on Tuesday. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but Beaver were the better team in the second half.

Leo De Leon and Christopher Gutierrez scored both of Beaver's goals, which were season-firsts for both players.

The victory snapped Beaver's losing streak at three matches and leaves them with a 2-8 record. As for Millard, their loss dropped their record down to 7-2.

Everything went Millard's way against Beaver in their previous meeting back in March, as Millard made off with a 4-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
