Football Recap: Deckerville Eagles vs. Oakland Christian Lancers
Deckerville put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Oakland Christian Lancers 58-0 at home. Fans of the Eagles have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ point.
Hunter Garza had an outrageously good game as he threw for 200 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 passes, and also rushed for 34 yards and a touchdown. Parker Merriman was another key player, rushing for 82 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries.
Deckerville's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Oakland Christian, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
Deckerville will venture away from home to challenge Brown City at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Brown City knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 31 point or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Deckerville likes a good challenge. As for Oakland Christian, they will host Capac at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
