Volleyball Recap: Springfield Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Win

Springfield extended their winning streak to five games thanks to a huge performance from Jonah Sheppard. Everything went Springfield's way against the Avon Eagles on Friday as Springfield made off with a 3-0 victory thanks in part to Sheppard, who had 18 digs and three aces. He has been hot, having posted two or more aces the last five times he's played.

Springfield was especially dominant in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-21, 25-20.

Springfield's win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-1. As for Avon, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Springfield will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Northwest Ohio Classical Academy at 6:00 p.m. on April 8. As for Avon, they will head out on the road to challenge Euclid at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
