Basketball Game Preview: Elizabethtown Panthers vs. Meade County Green Waves

The Elizabethtown Panthers will face off against the Meade County Green Waves at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Elizabethtown knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven games -- so hopefully Meade County likes a good challenge.

Elizabethtown is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Central just ended the team's ten-game winning streak on Monday. They fell just short of the Yellow Jackets by a score of 62-60.

Meanwhile, Meade County came up short against Owensboro Catholic on Tuesday and fell 68-60. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (55), the Green Waves still had to take the loss.

Meade County's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-8. As for Elizabethtown, their loss dropped their record down to 15-5.

Elizabethtown came up short against Meade County in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, falling 67-63. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Meade County's Peyton Bradley, who shot 4-for-7 from deep and dropped a double-double on 32 points and 16 boards.
