Baseball Game Preview: Cedar Key Sharks vs. Bell Bulldogs

Cedar Key is 0-7 against Bell since March of 2015 but things could change on Monday. Cedar Key will challenge Bell at 6:00 p.m. Cedar Key will be strutting in after a win while Bell will be coming in after a defeat.

Cedar Key hadn't beaten Meadowbrook Academy on the road since March 12, 2015 but that history sure didn't bother them on Thursday. Cedar Key was the clear victor by a 14-4 margin over Meadowbrook Academy. Considering the Sharks have won three contests by more than nine runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Bell came up short against Dixie County on Friday and fell 5-2. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Cedar Key has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.2 runs over those games. Bell's loss dropped their record down to 9-7.

Cedar Key might still be hurting after the 21-7 defeat they got from Bell in their previous meeting back in April of 2022. Can Cedar Key avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
