Volleyball Recap: East Surry Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, East Surry couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell just short of the Draughn Wildcats by a score of 3-2 on Thursday.

Draughn found their leader in sophomore Ashlyn Heavner, who had eight digs and three aces. Those three aces set a new season-high mark for Heavner.

East Surry's loss dropped their record down to 17-7. As for Draughn, they are on a roll lately: they've won 16 of their last 17 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-5 record this season.

East Surry does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Draughn, they have already played their next match, a 3-1 victory against Union Academy on the 25th.
