After a string of ten wins, Ava's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They came up short against the Thayer Bobcats, falling 13-2. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Bears, who until this match were averaging 3.62 runs allowed.

Ava saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hunter Strunk, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Ava's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 7-1 and their overall record down to 10-3. As for Thayer, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-4.

Coming up, Ava will face off against Houston at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Thayer, they will head out to challenge Van Buren at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bobcats will need to watch out since the Bulldogs have now posted at least ten runs in their last three games.
