Basketball Recap: New West Charter Picks Up Second Consecutive Win

If Stella High Charter Academy wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played New West Charter, they should've done a better job of containing Liam Hakimi. The New West Charter Eagles took their contest on Wednesday with ease, bagging a 72-44 win over the Stella High Charter Academy Eagles thanks in part to Hakimi, who went 16 of 32 on his way to 43 points and six steals. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points.

The victory made it two in a row for New West Charter and bumps their season record up to 8-5. As for Stella High Charter Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-12.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. New West Charter will face off against Math & Science College Preparatory at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Stella High Charter Academy, they will challenge Horace Mann UCLA Community at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
