Triangle Math & Science suffers fourth straight loss on the road

Recap: Triangle Math & Science Tigers vs. Chatham Central Bears

After a string of three wins, the Triangle Math & Science Tigers's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. Their tough 58-35 defeat to Chatham Central might stick with them for a while. Triangle Math & Science found out winning isn't easy when you don't work as a unit and rack up 17 fewer assists than your opponent.

Triangle Math & Science lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Samrita Sriram, who scored 15 points along with six steals. Sriram hasn't dropped below two steals for ten straight games. Another player making a difference was Leanna Nohs, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds.

Triangle Math & Science struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.

Karaleigh Dodson continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Chatham Central, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it eight consecutive games in which Dodson has scored at least 25% of Chatham Central's points. Kelsey Hussey was another key contributor, scoring six points along with six assists and five rebounds.

Triangle Math & Science bumped their record down to 6-5 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Chatham Central, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Triangle Math & Science will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Eno River at 6:00 p.m. on January 3, 2024. As for Chatham Central, they will head out on the road to face off against Seaforth at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Seaforth is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
