Baseball Game Preview: New Life Camp Storm vs. Neuse Christian Academy Lions

The New Life Camp Storm will head out on the road to take on the Neuse Christian Academy Lions at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (New Life Camp has three straight wins, Neuse Christian Academy has seven straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

New Life Camp is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They walked away with a 14-10 victory over South Wake on Monday.

Ethan Windley made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed 1.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run but no hits. Windley was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Seth Massie, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and two RBI. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Cameron Neighoff was another key player, going 2-for-5 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill hit Neuse Christian Academy with a ten-run sixth inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Lions lost 21-3 to the Lion.

New Life Camp's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-4. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Neuse Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 3-8.
