Two teams that lost their openers battle for a chance to stay relevant in national rankings.

Saturday, 1 p.m. Eastern timeWhy it's big: After losing their season openers, both of these East Coast powers need a win Saturday to stay relevant on the national scene this year.
Gilman (2-1) bounced back nicely from a heartbreaking 14-13 opening loss to St. Edward (Lakewood, Ohio) by beating state-ranked Our Lady of Good Counsel (Olney, Md.), then crushing Eastern Christian Academy (Elkton, Md.) last week, 42-14. The Greyhounds' easier-than-expected win against Eastern Christian Academy is particularly of note because ECA ruined then-nationally ranked Paramus Catholic's season opener in New Jersey two weeks ago.
To its credit, Paramus Catholic (1-1) responded to the ECA loss with 28-0 shutout of Pope John XXIII (Sparta) last Saturday.
Names to watch: Gilman features two linemen rated among the Top 10 prospects in the state of Maryland by 247Sports. Defensive tackle
Ellison Jordan is a four-star recruit headed to Penn State. Michigan-bound offensive tackle
Devery Hamilton is also a four-star prospect.
Paramus Catholic defensive tackle
Rashan Gary is the top overall prospect in the Class of 2016, according to 247Sports. The 6-foot-4, 311-pound beast is extremely explosive and virtually unblockable when his switch is set to full-go. Gary is expected to choose between scholarship offers from Michigan, Alabama, Auburn, Ohio State and Clemson.
