Football Recap: Altamont Finds Home Field Redemption Against Utah Military Academy - Camp Williams

There's no place like home for Altamont, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They came out on top against the Utah Military Academy - Camp Williams Marauders by a score of 36-26 on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Longhorns also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2024.

Logan Nelson was nothing short of spectacular: he rushed for 125 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.8 yards per carry. Those 125 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Altamont was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 274 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Utah Military Academy - Camp Williams only rushed for 136 rushing yards.

When it comes to explaining why Utah Military Academy - Camp Williams lost, don't look at David Shern. Despite the final result, he rushed for 112 yards and a pair of TDs on only 14 carries, and also threw for 104 yards and two touchdowns on only nine passes.

The win got Altamont back to even at 1-1. As for Utah Military Academy - Camp Williams, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 1-1.
