Basketball Game Preview: Bethel Bison vs. South Kitsap Wolves

The Bethel Bison will head out on the road to challenge the South Kitsap Wolves at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Bethel has now lost eight straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 6.

Last Thursday, Bethel had to suffer through a 71-41 loss at the hands of Emerald Ridge. While losing is never fun, the Bison can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 308th, while the Jaguars are ranked 84th).

Meanwhile, South Kitsap's game on Thursday was all tied up 25-25 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They took down Yelm 60-44.

South Kitsap is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 5-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.5 points per game. As for Bethel, their loss dropped their record down to 1-11.

Bethel beat South Kitsap 60-53 when the teams last played back in December of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bethel since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
