Basketball Recap: Adairsville Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Adairsville, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They rang in the new year with a 73-64 victory over the Cass Colonels on Saturday. For the Tigers, this counts as revenge for the 63-56 win the Colonels walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2018.

Adairsville had a senior duo take command as Tre Winters went 7 of 15 en route to 22 points along with eight assists and six boards and Benjamin A Abernathy almost dropped a double-double on 22 points and nine boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points A Abernathy has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Xavious Nalls, who posted 11 points and eight rebounds.

Adairsville's victory bumped their record up to 7-8. As for Cass, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-9.

Adairsville wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, an 80-30 win against Ridgeland on the 7th. As for Cass, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 60-49 loss against Hiram on the 7th.
