Baseball Recap: Nolan Catholic Comes Up Short

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Nolan Catholic and Trinity Christian meet (four straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Tuesday. The Vikings fell just short of the Trojans by a score of 3-2. The Vikings were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Trojans earlier this season, when they won 11-7.

Nolan Catholic's defeat was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 7-16-1. As for Trinity Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 2-7.

Nolan Catholic and Trinity Christian could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. The Vikings will challenge Liberty Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank disadvantage (665 vs. 12). Meanwhile, Trinity Christian (ranked 859th) will meet Parish Episcopal (ranked 424th) at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
