Basketball Recap: Avon's Undefeated Season over After Three Games + How To Watch

Avon came into their game on Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Upper Cape Cod RVT Rams, falling 69-45. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rams apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.

When it comes to explaining why Avon lost, don't look at Thomas Edwards. Despite the final result, he shot 45% from the field en route to 24 points and eight boards. Edwards' big performance that evening made it 21 games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points. Another player making a difference was Marcell Bittle, who posted nine points.

Having lost for the first time this season, Avon fell to 2-1. As for Upper Cape Cod RVT, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.

Avon will take on Tri-County RVT in a holiday battle at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Upper Cape Cod RVT and Cape Cod RVT will compete for holiday cheer at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
