Softball Recap: Carbondale Area Comes Up Short

Carbondale Area was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 9-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Forest City Foresters. The Chargers were not able to make up for their loss to the Foresters from their previous meeting back in March of 2021.

Stephanie Baker was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those RBI marked the first that she brought in this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Ellinger, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.

Carbondale Area's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Forest City, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Carbondale Area didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 5-4 victory against Honesdale on the 11th. As for Forest City, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 10-5 win against Mountain View on the 14th.
