Basketball Recap: Hill City Takes a Loss

If Hill City was feeling good fresh off their 85-40 takedown of Floodwood last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Hill City Hornets had to suffer through an 87-45 loss at the hands of the Deer River Warriors. While losing is never fun, the Hornets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 370th, while the Warriors are ranked 90th).

Hill City's loss dropped their record down to 9-14. As for Deer River, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 23-2.

Hill City does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Deer River, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, an 86-67 win against South Ridge on the 8th.
