            Baseball Recap: Legacy Lightning vs. Broomfield Eagles        
        
		
        
        
            Legacy dropped their record down to 11-6 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins on the road. They fell just short of the Broomfield Eagles by a score of  5-4. The Lightning were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their  loss the last time these teams played  back in April of 2024.
 Ethan Sanchez put in work while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound,   pitching one inning while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. Furthermore,  he didn't allow a single  walk, the first time  he has blanked an opponent since back in March of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box,  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances with one  RBI.
 In other batting news,  KC Reiser made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and  went 1-for-3 with one  home run and two  RBI.
As for Broomfield, their victory was  their third straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 16-3. Those  home  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 10.3 runs over those games.
On Broomfield's side, they got a great performance from  Ethan Zufall as he  pitched five innings while giving up just one earned  (and one unearned) run off   two  hits.
 On the hitting side, Broomfield's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was  Nate Wochner, who  went 1-for-3 with one  home run and two  RBI. Another  was  Brendan Fritch, who  got on base  in two of his three plate appearances with one  stolen base and one  run.
 Coming up, Legacy will host Holy Family  at 4:00  p.m.  on Thursday. The Lightning's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 6.1  runs per game this season. As for Broomfield, they will head out on the road to  face off against  Skyline  at 4:00  p.m.  on Thursday.
