Recap: Strom Thurmond Rebels vs. Keenan Raiders

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Strom Thurmond Rebels had no problem doing just that on Friday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 53-20 victory over Keenan. Considering Strom Thurmond has won nine games by more than 25 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Strom Thurmond can attribute much of their success to Quan Edmond, who threw for 213 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 10.7 yards per attempt. Edmond is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Demarius Tolen, who picked up 108 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Strom Thurmond's defense and their six sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Hd Yonce and Josh Merriweather who racked up four sacks between them.
The victory was the seventh in a row for Strom Thurmond, bringing their record for this year to 10-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 44.9 points per game. As for Keenan, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-6.
Strom Thurmond will face off against Gray Collegiate Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in South Carolina (Gray Collegiate Academy is ranked 11th, while Strom Thurmond is ranked 31st). Keenan does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
