Mayfield came tearing into Thursday's contest with 20 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.7 points), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Organ Mountain Knights 62-37. The Trojans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Mayfield was led to victory by Ceanna Mckines and Jazlene Ruiz. Mckines dropped a double-double with 15 points and ten rebounds, while Ruiz almost dropped a double-double with 14 points and nine boards. Ruiz has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Juliette Moreno also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Mayfield smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 36 consecutive games dating back to last season.

Organ Mountain's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Siena Gonzales, who went 5-for-10 to rack up 13 points, and Gabriela Abeyta, who posted six points.

Mayfield pushed their record up to 22-3 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.0 points over those games. As for Organ Mountain, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-18.

Mayfield does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Organ Mountain, they will be playing at home against Alamogordo at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
