Football Game Preview: McCluer Comets vs. Parkway North Vikings

McCluer hasn't had much luck against Parkway North recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Comets will challenge the Vikings at 6:30 p.m.

McCluer's offense might be in the hot seat on Friday considering what happened against Eureka on Saturday. They were outmatched by the Wildcats and fell 28-0. While losing is never fun, the Comets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri football rankings (they are ranked 198th, while the Wildcats are ranked 32nd).

Meanwhile, Parkway North had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23.5 points) and they went ahead and made it seven on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 35-12 margin over the Warriors. The result was nothing new for the Vikings, who have now won five contests by 23 points or more so far this season.

Parkway North's victory bumped their record up to 7-1. As for McCluer, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7.

McCluer was dealt a bruising 60-6 loss at the hands of Parkway North in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Comets were down 53-0.
