Baseball Recap: York Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for York, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They won by a run and slipped past the Hinsdale Central Red Devils 9-8. The Dukes haven't had any issues with the Red Devils recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Danny Raible looked comfortable as he tossed 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Josh Fleming was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.

York's victory bumped their record up to 18-5. As for Hinsdale Central, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-15.

Coming up, York will head out on the road to face off against Berwyn/Cicero Morton at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Dukes are facing the Mustangs at the right time seeing as the Mustangs are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Hinsdale Central, they will square off against Proviso East at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Red Devils will also cruise into their next game with the timing on their side: the Pirates will have lost 16 straight heading into Saturday's match.
