Softball Recap: Claremont Has No Trouble Against Walnut

Claremont got themselves on the board against Walnut on Tuesday, but Walnut never followed suit. Everything went their way against the Walnut Mustangs as they made off with a 14-0 win. The Wolfpack might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by ten runs or more this season.

Daneli Becerra was a standout: she scored three runs and stole Three bases. while going 3-for-4. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Erabella Arzola was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base.

Becerra wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Claremont kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits every time they've taken the field this season.

Claremont's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Walnut, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Claremont will face off against Alta Loma at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Claremont's pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so Alta Loma's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Walnut, they will take on Ayala at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Walnut has given up an average of 7.4 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
