Football Recap: Lookout Valley Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Lookout Valley extended their losing streak to four on Friday, dropping them down to 2-4. They were outmatched by the Huntland Hornets and fell 49-14. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Yellowjackets of the 41-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Lookout Valley didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Alexander Murasso and Jayden Fitch.

As for Huntland, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-1. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Huntland's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bryant Mooney, who rushed for 118 yards and one touchdown on only five carries. Mooney's longest rush was for an impressive 50 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Alfonso Cabera was another key rusher, rushing for 101 yards and one score on only five carries.

Looking ahead, Lookout Valley is taking a road trip to face off against Copper Basin at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Cougars will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last. As for Huntland, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Fayetteville on Friday. The Hornets will be up against the Tigers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 36.2 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
