Preview: Maxwell Panthers vs. Biggs Wolverines
The Maxwell Panthers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Biggs Wolverines at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The timing isn't great for Maxwell: they have been struggling with four straight losses at home, while Biggs has snatched up four consecutive wins on the road.
Maxwell suffered their closest defeat yet this season on Friday. They fell just short of Williams by a score of 45-43.
Meanwhile, Biggs scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 80-55 margin over Los Molinos. Biggs has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 20 points or more this season.
Biggs got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Chris Kroupa out in front who scored 17 points along with two steals. Kroupa hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Emilio Vera was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with seven assists and four blocks.
Maxwell's defeat dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Biggs, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.
Maxwell might still be hurting after the 65-41 loss they got from Biggs when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Can Maxwell avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
