Baseball Recap: San Lorenzo Valley Takes a Loss

San Lorenzo Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They fell 6-3 to the Scotts Valley Falcons. The Cougars were not able to make up for their loss to the Falcons from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Jordan Renteria was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed six innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off five hits.

At the plate, Jaden Shabry was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 1-for-4. Dominic Aguilar also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

San Lorenzo Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Scotts Valley, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-8.

Looking ahead, San Lorenzo Valley will look to defend their home field on Saturday against North Salinas at 11:00 a.m. As for Scotts Valley, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Aptos at 4:00 p.m. on the 15th.
